DETAIL: PHILIPPIDES MARBLE FACTORY

We entered the surreal world of shiny white giant blocks that look like feta inside a Greek Salad: Philippides Marble Factory. It has a narrow entrance between the trees and it’s hard to notice. We were there on saturday when no one was working.

This place doesn’t look from our world. Especially hearing the clear echo of your sound makes you forget about the outside world. They hollowed out a whole hill of marble and everything seems to be out of size. The deep hole in the middle makes you feel (and look) like a toy soldier.

On our last day giant pieces of marble were travelling to the main land on the same ship we were. I felt happy to have seen exactly where they were coming from.

Yol uzerinde bembeyaz parlayan, adeta beyaz peynircesine kesilmis duran mermerlerin dunyasina girdik.

Her sey insan boyutuna gore cok buyuk.

Evlerini gormus oldugum icin mutlu hissettim.
